Project summary: The Feast or Famine game requires students to learn to identify seeds, plants and their climate needs. The player must select the correct combination of seeds to provide the nutritional needs for a geographic region.

Technology and Software: An introductory webpage gives a topic overview. Four informational modules and the Feast or Famine game were created using Adobe Flash. The Flash modules draw seed information from a database. The web pages were created with Adobe Dreamweaver, and graphics were created with Adobe Photoshop.

Pedagogy and Technology: The preliminary modules are slide shows that explain basic seed and biome terminology and identification. A short self test at the end of each module determines whether the student is ready to move to the next module. Winning the game requires the user to apply everything that has been learned about nutrition, seed identification, and climate.
