An oral presentation is an address or presentation given verbally to an audience. Many oral presentations include visual aids. Oral presentations can take place in various forms including poster presentations, group work, interviews, and debate.

How do I get started?
When assigning oral presentations it is helpful to
- Give students guidelines on what you expect for their presentation to contain.
- Give students guidelines on how to successfully present including information on body language, posture, eye contact, and pace.
- Give students a clear outline of the grading structure.
- Give students immediate feedback so that other students can learn from their mistakes and successes as well as written feedback to the invidual.
- Videotape the presentation so the student can critically evaluate his or her own oral presentation skills.
