Welcoming Our New Navigator Chat

Did you know that UFIT has released a new version of NaviGator Chat, a free service where you can chat with Generative AI in a secure environment? NaviGator Chat has over forty large language models (LLMs) available, with many of them hosted on the UFIT HiPerGator supercomputer allowing you to use them with Sensitive or Restricted data. If you have been looking for a service to use with your research or student data, look no further! NaviGator Chat is available for most faculty, staff, and students.

Additional new features include:

  • Web searches to get additional context for generating responses, including current events
  • Compare output from multiple large language models side-by-side
  • Upload up to 15 documents in one conversation that will be searched to find answers
  • Save memories about yourself so that AI can personalize its responses
  • Code interpreter to run Python scripts, render webpages, or create flowcharts with MermaidJS
  • LaTeX formatting for math
  • Live voice conversations
  • New open-source image generation model

Not sure which model to pick? Consider Gemini-2.5-Pro, currently the strongest model from Google and topping many ranking charts. Still need help? Look for our upcoming and previous Tech Byte events covering the new NaviGator Chat, sign up for a training from the CITT Training Team, or apply for our co-led Harnessing AI Faculty Learning Community this fall for an in-depth dive. As always, feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or want to discuss your particular challenge!

Generated with NaviGator Chat using Flux.1 Schnell and expanded with Adobe Photoshop using Generative Fill on 7/23/25.
