Overview

The Fostering Student Achievement certificate of completion explores ways to positively impact student success through quality course design. Instructors will be provided with the tools necessary to successfully implement a more student-focused learning environment. This series will address the fundamentals, strategies, and implementation of non-traditional assessments, the design and application of rubrics and feedback, and the utilization of course analytics and quiz statistics in e-Learning.

Structure

This certificate of completion is a series of three online workshops. Each workshop is offered over a two-week period and participants can complete assignments at their own pace. It is anticipated that each workshop takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete with an emphasis on building content and assessments that can be utilized in your courses. Participants earn a badge for each offering and a certificate of completion for completing all three.

In this instructional development opportunity, participants will review best practices of building effective rubrics and providing quality feedback in eLearning. Through varied activities, participants will be equipped with the skills necessary to implement rubrics to improve student performance.

Interpreting Course Analytics to Address Student Needs

Use e-Learning course analytics and quiz statistics to help identify struggling students, enhance assessment reliability and validity, and improve student learning. Participants will interpret various activity graphs, evaluate quizzes to make predictions, and prescribe appropriate interventions where needed to improve those outcomes.
